Aesthetic Dentistry

Tooth bleaching is a procedure in which darker teeth are treated, no matter if they are vital or not (if the nerves removed or not). Tooth bleaching can be done in many ways.

In our practice this procedure is done under clinical conditions with the supervision of a dentist in duration of about one hour. First the tooth are prepared (they are cleaned from plaque and calculus), then the agent for tooth bleaching is put on the teeth (30% hydrogen peroxide) for about a 15 minutes period of time and it is removed. If the result is not satisfactory, the procedure can be repeated two more times.

Teeth whitening can be done at home as well. In this case splints are made beforehand on the basis of the patient’s teeth which serves as a holder for the teeth whitening gel. After a brief training the practice the patients can very easily bleach their teeth wearing a splint at night or during the day. Results appear gradually, slower than in ambulatory teeth whitening.

During the process of teeth whitening very colored drinks, food and cigarettes should not be consumed. The process is not permanent, and treatment is necessary after a while again.

Devitalized teeth change their colour over time, they become darker due to changes in metabolism of the teeth. These teeth can be bleached as well. The procedure is as follows: a little preparation is made in the tooth which is to be whitened, and the whitening gel is put in. The gel remains in the tooth for about two weeks, until the appropriate color is obtained. Then the final filling is put in.

Tooth bleaching does not harm the tooth structure, and as for side effects increased sensitivity for cold can be noticed. However, this is not permanent, and for the time being special toothpaste can be used to ease the symptoms.

Tooth jewelry is an easy way of making Your smile unique and irresistible. The procedure is totally painless and it does not come to harming of the tooth tissue.

The tooth is prepared (cleaned from soft plaque) and the jewel is fixed on the frontal surface of the upper tooth. The jewel can be replaced and changed any time without any consequences.

Nowadays a great number of materials is used in stomatology for making fillings. Modern aesthetic materials (white fillings) are so perfected that they completely suppressed the use of amalgam (grey fillings).

Their advantage is that it removes less tooth structure as compared to the case of placing an amalgam filling. In our practice the most advanced aesthetic materials for teeth fillings are used, which fully meet the mechanical and aesthetic criteria. With the help of these materials the tooth affected by tooth decay can be reconstructed (“fixed”) and the shape and form of teeth which has been changed due to non-caries factors can be repaired, improved or established (wedge erosion in the neck of the tooth, broken edges, teeth with congenital defects in the structure). A disadvantage of these materials is that it may come the counting of the edge of the filling, as well as the change of the color around the filler pigments from food and drink, so after a period of time it needs replacing.
